Camber Sands Beach

Ten minutes’ drive from the hotel lies Camber Sands, the longest stretch of sandy beach in East Sussex. Camber Sands is one of the kitesurfing and windsurfing meccas in the country. Book lessons or hire equipment from Rye Watersports (a BKSA and RYA approved centre), just a 5 minute drive away on the Camber road.

The “blue flag” beach is over 2 miles long and half-a-mile wide at low tide. Camber Sands embraces a site of special scientific interest (SSSI) and nature conservation importance and is famous for the long ridges of sand dunes leading down to miles of soft golden sands. The area is perfect for beachcombing and will keep thelittle ones entertained for hours!

There is a footpath from Rye to Camber Sands which takes approximately 40 minutes.

 

Camber Sands is open all  year round and free to use. There are three pay on arrivals car parks nearby and infomation can be found on the Rother council website.
