Introducing The Lookout Rye

Introducing The Lookout Rye

We are excited to announce Rye Lodge has a new name – here’s introducing

“The Lookout”!

It’s been a long summer and we are very pleased to have made it to the relative calm of September! Rye is always gorgeous, but this may be its finest month. With the last few days of the Rye Festival running through until the end of September, there’s plenty of culture in town. We still have some late availability so now’s the time to visit for the last rays of the summer sun.

Our new name, The Lookout was inspired by the viewing terrace in front of the hotel, which overlooks the salt marsh and river heading out to Rye Harbour, towards the sea. This was dedicated to the town of Rye by one of its most famous former residents, the writer E.F. Benson of Mapp of Lucia fame.

We’ve given the hotel a little facelift in honour of its new name, so if you haven’t visited for a while you may notice some changes.

Enjoy the finest authentic Italian cooking at Rye’s newest restaurant, “The Lookout”!

We are also delighted to celebrate the opening of The Lookout’s restaurant led by Head Chef, Joshua Price. His Italian menu draws from classical regional cooking and local Sussex produce, with some inspiration from his chef team Francesco and Marco.

You can still eat al fresco on our terrace and our dining room is looking cosy for dinner service. Gianpaolo and his team look forward to welcoming you, with reservations available online as always.

With best wishes from all the team at The Lookout.
